(Philadelphia, PA) Printing Impressions magazine, producer of the annual Gold Ink Awards, announced that YUPO Synthetic Paper has won a silver award for the entry entitled YUPO Glitter Insert in the magazine inserts category.
The competition was open to all creators and producers of printed materials. The YUPO Glitter Insert was submitted by the printer, PBM Graphics, Inc., a Consolidated Graphics company. www.pbmgraphics.com The YUPO Glitter Insert was printed on a Komori press using Sun Chemical ink onto YUPO Synthetic Paper.
The insert, featuring a close up photo of a woman’s face surrounded by diamonds, was designed to showcase the paper’s capacity to accept the spot gloss glitter UV on the diamonds, simulating a sparkling reflection. The insert appeared in various design industry print magazines.
This year’s Gold Ink Award winners were chosen from more than 1,000 entries submitted within 46 different categories. Winning pieces were chosen based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect. www.GoldInk.com/winners-revealed
Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners in each category received a plaque to display at its facility, and will be featured in Printing Impressions magazine and GoldInk.com. Top award winning companies and their entries will also be featured during a multimedia presentation at the Gold Ink & Hall of Fame banquet held during GRAPH EXPO in Chicago, which will take place Monday, Sept. 12, at the Hyatt McCormick Place Hotel.
